Structure Variance

Meaning

The Structure Variance Location represents a part of the system where the structure of the system can vary during the existence of the system. It can be thought of as a a location in which components of the sytem can be created and deleted. There must be at least one designated agent that manipulates and modifies the structure. Hence each block diagram that contains structure variance only shows a snapshot of the system - preferably a snapshot that is especially relevant to the understanding of the system.
